Hello Webheads,
I have found another new, web-casting tool, called CentraOne, by
EDS.It is ideal for Educational purposes since it has been used for
Web-Seminars.The new and interesting charactersitics of this tool
includes the following:
1.You can hear other speakers even while you are speaking.
2.You can integrate Web-cam, showing yourself to your audience.
(Notice that, this means, you don't have to upload your image from
your pc as in other Web-casting tools we learned about, recently).
3.It has a high capacity, allowing more than 50 participants in one
session. This is one of the reasons it is great for an On-line
Symposium.
These are a few of the new characteristics I've found, so far.I'm
sure we can find more, together.Besides the other characteristics
that are available in most Web-casting tools, many of us are quite
familiar with now,CentraOne has Poll Users and Higlighting Words or
Sentences included in the text-chat window, participants window, and
the browser or whiteboard window.Although, these two charactersitics
are available at the Conference Room/vClass of Compu.Ed, I found
that they are modified and produced in a more suffisticated manner
at CentraOne.
Anyway, I'm still trying to learn and find more stuff to share with
you regarding the Web-Symposium tool by EDS. Once I'm done, I'll
definitly update you.
Regards,
Buth
P.S  Currently, I'm trying to contact EDS to take their permission
to publish a web-page I'm preparing on CentraOne to show you all
what CentraOne can offer for us in our pursue in the educational
field.I would like to indicate that I reached the page on CentraOne
from a URL provided by Vance, during a short, stimulating
discussion, at TI yesterday, on "Chaos Navigation" theory and "Cat
Herders". The URL provided by Vance:
http://www.eds.com/superbowl/sb_main_high.shtml#
I found CentraOne while browsing through several pages of the above
URL.(Amazing, "in't" it?).
